The Laudato Si’ Certified Environmental Trainer Program Embarks on Its Third Run, Attracting a Diverse Cohort of Scholars

In a testament to its growing impact and relevance, the Laudato Si’ Certified Environmental Trainer (LS-CET) program wasted no time in launching its third run, immediately following the successful conclusion of its second iteration. On March 2nd, the program welcomed 52 scholars from various schools and dioceses, comprising educators, administrators, school staff, and department heads. Notably, this run boasts a remarkable diversity, with participants ranging from the youngest at 23 years old to the eldest at 72 years old, including more than five senior citizens, many of whom hold managerial or leadership positions in their respective fields.

Similar to the first and second runs, scholars participating in the third iteration of the Laudato Si’ Certified Environmental Trainer (LS-CET) program will embark on a comprehensive curriculum that covers a wide range of environmental topics. These topics include climate change, biodiversity conservation, sustainable energy, and waste management, among others. Through a combination of lectures and hands-on activities, participants will gain practical insights and tools to effectively implement environmental initiatives within their schools and communities.

The diverse makeup of the third run reflects a growing recognition of the importance of environmental education across different sectors. With participants representing a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, including seasoned managers and department heads, the LS-CET program promises to offer rich opportunities for collaboration and learning.
