Parañaque City — In a moving celebration of faith, education, and environmental stewardship, St. Andrew’s School – Parañaque recently concluded its participation in the Laudato Si–CET (Certificate in Ecological Theology) Certification Program. Ten committed educators from the institution completed the first quarter of the program this year, responding to Pope Francis’ call to care for our common home.
Rooted in the 2015 encyclical Laudato Si, the certification program empowers educators to become advocates of ecological conversion, a journey that integrates spirituality, environmental awareness, and community action. Participants explored themes of sustainability, ecological justice, and environmental ethics, aligning their vocation as teachers with the urgent global mission to protect the Earth.
“For me, as an Andrean, witnessing this moment was deeply personal and profoundly hopeful,” shared one participant. “The seed of ecological awareness that was once planted in my heart has begun to bear fruit through the dedication of fellow educators who now walk this transformative path.”
The initiative reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to the ideals of Pro Deo et Patria — for God and country — by nurturing leaders who view caring for creation not merely as a responsibility, but as a sacred vocation. With faith and knowledge as their foundation, these educators now join a growing movement of hope and action, extending their influence beyond the classroom into the broader community.
As the spirit of Laudato Si continues to inspire transformation, the program stands as a testament to what is possible when education, spirituality, and ecological awareness come together in service of the planet.
