Short History of DBST
The Don Bosco Center of Studies (DBCS) at Paranaque City, was established in 1972 to house the Salesian students of theology. In 1983 it opened its own school of theology. Four years later, it merited affiliation with the Faculty of Theology of the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome, thus empowering DBST to grant the ecclesiastical degree Bachelor in Sacred Theology. Many students, local, and foreign, from other religious institutes came to enroll.

Peter John A. Cumpas, PTRP, MRS, MaELM Vice-President for Operations / Administrator | Vice-Dean for Student Affairs
Peter John Cumpas serves as Vice-President for Operations / Administrator and Vice-Dean for Student Affairs of the Don Bosco School of Theology. With a background in theology and educational leadership, he is involved in administration, institutional development, and formation programs at DBST.
He is a theology professor and formator with experience in catechetical formation, Theology of the Body, Salesian formation, and pastoral leadership. He is also engaged in evangelization and faith formation as a preacher, retreat facilitator, catechist, and youth minister.
His work includes advancing theological and pastoral formation, organizational development, ecological conversion, and Laudato Si’ initiatives at DBST.
Feegie S. Ibacarra, CPA Finance Officer
Feegie Ibacarra, CPA, serves as Finance Officer of the Don Bosco School of Theology, where he is responsible for supporting the institution’s financial management and stewardship of its resources. He is a Certified Public Accountant, having passed the Philippine CPA Licensure Examination in 2015.
He also serves as Treasurer of the DBST Board of Trustees, contributing his financial expertise to the institution’s governance and responsible stewardship.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Feegie is actively involved in Catholic Church and community activities, bringing to his work a commitment to service and responsible stewardship in support of the mission of the Church and DBST.
Maybelline Josefa S. Ferreros, CPA Head, Institutional Advancement Program Office | Head, Grants & Scholarship Desk
Maybelline Josefa Ferreros, CPA, heads the Institutional Advancement Program Office of the Don Bosco School of Theology and leads its Grants and Scholarship Desk. She is involved in strengthening institutional partnerships, resource development, and programs that support the mission and sustainability of DBST.
Through her work in institutional advancement, she helps develop opportunities for benefactors, grants, scholarships, and strategic partnerships that contribute to theological education and the formation of future pastoral leaders.
She is also actively involved in DBST’s initiatives on integral ecology and Laudato Si’, including international collaborations that advance ecological formation, research, and care for our common home.
Mary Daisy May M. Quiboloy, LPT Head, Human Resources | Head, Facilities
Mary Daisy May Quiboloy, LPT, serves as Head of Human Resources and Head of Facilities at the Don Bosco School of Theology. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from St. Paul University Manila.
In her role, she supports the development and well-being of DBST personnel while helping ensure a professional, collaborative, and supportive workplace environment. She also oversees the management and development of the school’s facilities and physical resources.
Through her work, she contributes to creating an environment that supports the academic, pastoral, and formational mission of DBST, ensuring that both its people and facilities are cared for in service of the institution and its community.
Michael T. Nonan Head, Information Technology
Michael Nonan serves as Head of Information Technology at the Don Bosco School of Theology, overseeing the school’s technology systems and digital infrastructure in support of its academic, administrative, and formational mission.
With a background in information technology and training at AMA, he contributes to the development and maintenance of the technological resources that enable DBST to provide efficient and accessible services to its students, faculty, and staff.
Through his work, Michael supports the digital transformation of DBST and helps ensure that technology serves as a reliable tool for communication, learning, administration, and the continuing development of the institution.
Emma B. Lequit, LPT, MRS Head, Evangelium
Emma Lequit, LPT, MRS, serves as Head of Evangelium at the Don Bosco School of Theology, contributing to the institution’s mission of theological and pastoral formation. Her work supports the development of programs and initiatives that foster faith formation and engagement with the Church’s mission.
With her background in education and religious studies, she brings together pedagogical and theological perspectives in serving the academic and formational community of DBST.
Through her ministry at DBST, Emma contributes to creating meaningful opportunities for learning, faith formation, and pastoral growth, helping advance the school’s mission of forming committed disciples and pastoral leaders.

Fr. Francis Vincent O. Gustilo, SDB, SThD President, Don Bosco School of Theology
Fr. Francis Vincent Oliva Gustilo, SDB, is President and resident professor of the Don Bosco School of Theology. He holds a Doctorate in Sacred Theology specializing in Salesian Spirituality from the Università Pontificia Salesiana in Rome.
A former Provincial Superior of the Philippine North Province of the Salesians of Don Bosco, he also served as a member of the International Theological Commission (2009–2014). He currently serves as Executive Secretary of the CBCP Commission on Doctrine and Faith.
His ministry focuses on theological and pastoral formation, Salesian spirituality, ecological conversion, Laudato Si’, and care for our common home.
Fr. Stephen E. Placente, SDB, SSL, SThD Director, Don Bosco Ecclesiastical Institute of Theology | Rector & Acting Dean, Don Bosco School of Theology
Fr. Stephen E. Placente, SDB, is Director of the Don Bosco Ecclesiastical Institute of Theology and currently serves as Rector and Acting Dean of the Don Bosco School of Theology. He holds a Licentiate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome and a Doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, where his doctoral research focused on the biblical narrative of Jonathan and David.
A professor of Old Testament Studies and Biblical Languages, Fr. Stephen is dedicated to theological education and biblical formation, helping students encounter Sacred Scripture as the living Word of God and as a source of deeper understanding of faith, human relationships, and our responsibility toward creation.
In his leadership and teaching ministry, he contributes to the academic, spiritual, and pastoral formation of future ministers and pastoral leaders, guided by a commitment to Sacred Scripture, theological scholarship, and the mission of the Church.
Fr. Martin M. Macasaet, SDB, SThD Vice-Dean, Institute of Pastoral Formation | Prefect of Libraries
Fr. Martin M. Macasaet, SDB, is Vice-Dean of the Institute of Pastoral Formation and Prefect of Libraries at the Don Bosco School of Theology. He holds a Doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Pontificia Università Gregoriana in Rome, where his research focused on youth ministry in the Filipino Catholic Church.
A professor of Youth Ministry, Fr. Martin has served in various Salesian formation and leadership roles and has been actively involved in youth ministry at the Philippine and East Asia-Oceania regional levels. His ministry and scholarship focus particularly on youth, pastoral formation, youth culture, and the Church’s mission of evangelization among young people.
At DBST, he contributes to the formation of pastoral leaders equipped to accompany young people and respond creatively to the pastoral realities of the contemporary Church.

Ana Marie De Quiroz Registrar, Don Bosco School of Theology
Ana Marie De Quiroz serves as Registrar of the Don Bosco School of Theology, overseeing the school’s academic records, student registration, enrollment, and other matters related to the academic administration of DBST.
In her role, she works closely with students, faculty, and academic administrators to ensure the accurate and efficient management of academic processes and documentation, supporting students throughout their academic journey at DBST.
Through her service, she contributes to the school’s commitment to quality theological education, sound academic administration, and attentive service to the DBST community.
