Hi Friend,
As 2025 came to a close, we thanked the Lord for His constant blessings and guidance that sustained our mission of caring for our common home. With grateful hearts, we looked back on a year marked by growth, collaboration, and renewed commitment to our environment.
The Laudato Si’ Certified Environmental Trainer (LS-CET) program at the Don Bosco School of Theology successfully formed two new batches of environmental trainers. The first batch welcomed 59 participants from different institutions, followed by a second batch of 61 participants, further expanding a network of faith-driven environmental advocates.
DBST was also honored to host 20 youth leaders from the YMCA, representing various countries, who visited the school to learn more about the LS-CET program and Laudato Si’ initiatives. Their visit highlighted the global relevance of ecological formation rooted in faith and action.
This spirit of formation continued through several sector-based initiatives. Leaders of the BCBP National Women’s Group from different islands completed a four-day ecological formation course. Similarly, the St. Paul de Chartres Health Care Ministry administrative heads participated in a full-day Theocology overview at Perpetual Succor Hospital in Cebu, followed by an in-depth four-day seminar. Moreover, nearly 80 percent of the doctors, nurses, medical staff, allied services personnel, and security guards of St. Paul’s Hospital of Iloilo, totaling 826 participants, completed a one-day, eight-hour Eco-Recollection conducted in four separate sessions.
Throughout the year, several institutions successfully completed LS-CET certification, strengthening partnerships and promoting ecological education across communities and organizations.
A major milestone was reached on December 3, 2025, when the Don Bosco School of Theology was officially accredited by the Vatican’s Office for Integral Ecology as a Laudato Si’ School of Theology. Achieved just over two and a half years since the program began, this recognition affirmed DBST’s commitment to integral ecology and faithful response to the call of Laudato Si’.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all partners, benefactors, and collaborators who made these initiatives possible. As we look ahead to 2026, we remained hopeful and committed to continuing our mission together. Those who wish to support DBST and its Laudato Si’ advocacies may visit: dbst.edu.ph/support/.
