This is the well-known talking myna, a popular cage bird, much persecuted in the wild. It is confined to the Palawan area and is now endangered, because of lost habitat and wild bird trade. It likes to stay in tall trees and imitates other bird sounds and even human voices. It is all black with greenish or blue wash and a white bar on the wing, a bare yellow patch below the eye and a yellow skinfold from the eye to the nape. The bill is orange-red and the legs are yellow.
