HYFLEX LEARNING

  1. What is Hyflex?
  • The hybrid flexible or “HyFlex” course format is an instructional approach that combines face-to-face (F2F) and online learning. Each class session and learning activity is offered in-person, synchronously online, and asynchronously online.
  • HyFlex allows Don Bosco School of Theology to respond flexibly to public health challenges and disruption from natural calamities without sacrificing learning objectives. Students will be able to make the same progress towards their degree even if in-campus instruction is interrupted.

  1. Who can choose their learning modality?
  • Only students from ITF (MATh), IPF (MPM, TLR, and Evangelium), and IRF (TPS for Junior Sisters, CPCL, and Perpetuandi) can choose their learning modality (face-to-face or online).
  • Students from ITF (SThB) can only attend face-to-face classes. Special MPM Program of Tuesday and Thursday can only attend online classes.

  1. When can we choose our learning modality (face-to-face or online)?
  • Students can only choose their preferred learning modality during enrollment every semester.

  1. Can we shift from one learning modality to another?
  • We highly encourage that we avoid shifting from one learning modality to another but should there be a need to do so, students can switch from one modality to another by doing the following:

FACE-TO-FACE TO ONLINE

  • Students to send an email to the professor of intent to join an online class due to valid reasons (sickness, assignment to a different place, etc.).

ONLINE TO FACE-TO-FACE

  • Inform the Institutional Health and Safety Officer, 2 weeks before the scheduled joining to a face-to-face class.
