Its common throughout the country, staying in open areas with scattered trees. It is a graceful flier, often sailing motionless in the air for periods of time. It perches on high dead branches always eyeing for insects. It builds cup-shaped nests in broken branches. It is mostly slate-grey with a white breast and a shrill call ik-kik-kik-kik while in flight.
