Fairly common all over the country but absent in Palawan, they like to stay in bamboo groves and coconut plantations. It boldly moves around trees bobbing and fanning its tail. Very territorial with quite a vocal and loud melodious song, the call high pitched whistle. The male is unmistakable with its bluish-black body, white belly and white patch on the wings, the female is dark grey.
