FLAME BREASTED SUNBIRD

This widespread beauty, is found in different islands in the Visayas, and also in Mindanao. It is one of the so many beautiful sunbird species in the Philippines. It is found in forest edges, gardens, and coconut orchards. It has yellow, orange to almost red plumage in the belly to breast area resembling burning fire. It has the typical hooked slender bill of sunbird species, used for flower nectars and reaching into small insects. It has a very audible high pitched, chirp sound.
