Very common, found in most parts of the Philippines. Can be seen perched on rocks, trees near bodies of water searching for crabs, shrimps or small fishes. It is generally turquoise in color with a broad white collar bordered black above across the eyes. It makes a loud harsh kak-kak-kak-kak, and nest in holes in trees, embankment or even termite nest.
